In Simple terms, what is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a fear response. Fear can be in the here and now, as in, you are standing in front of a roaring tiger. This would be a clear and present danger. We don’t call this as Anxiety; it is just fear. But very often the fear that you feel is not about some thing in the here and now. It is about situation you may potentially face in the future. A situation, similar to which, you have experienced in the past, and couldn’t deal with it successfully. So, anxiety is not a response for a here and now situation, it is a familiar way of reacting to a potentially fearful situation.

So, what does this mean to me?

It means that there is no danger NOW, in this moment. Yes, a solution is required for a potential danger. And may be, there is a chance that with external help, you can together do something about it.

Yes. When someone who has expertise is in your side, you can deal with it. You just need to ask.
